Northeastern Pa. | Starting a pulling tractor is like a cold start. It's the one reason we crank with the fuel stop out to get the oil all the way through the tractor and turbo before it fires up. The other reason it's dumping a lot of fuel, so the pull stop is slowly pushed in while turning the motor over. Using shots of ether vs a stream helps start without locking it up. One reason I dislike newer farm tractors without an oil pressure gauge and pull type stop cable is you can't feather the start and see the oil pressure build. | |
