All you have is counterparty risk.
That may be low but not zero.
I've inherited a lot of my dad's depression era genes. I don't much trust big banks or insurance companies. I use them what I have to, and avoid them when I don't.
People didn't think Bear Stearns would collapse. Low probability but not zero. LTCM anybody? Sometimes it doesn't work out even for the smartest guys in the room.
