None of this will happen. Do you want the big city’s to be like they were in the early 80s as far as pollution goes? City’s are more populated than they were then so more smog. I know everyone on this site only thinks about themselves but it’s the reality of it. I know I don’t mind cleaner air in the shop when I have equipment running. Yeah def can be a pain but we have been running def stuff since 12 and it hasn’t really been that bad.

Answer me this:

What percentage of vehicles in said cities were:

Diesel?

Gasoline?

Gasahol?

Propane?

Today what percentage of vehicles in cites are:

Diesel?

Gasoline?

Gasahol?

Propane?

------

Diesel vehicles in the 1980s were a few very poorly received car models that basically didn't sell anything and medium and heavy duty trucks.

Def didn't solve your smog issue. DPF didn't either. Any diesel emissions issue didn't.

Catalytic converters, smog pumps, and ignition timing on Gasoline vehicles solved the smog issues.

If you are going to fear monger, at least give it some thought.

If you are running def equipment in the shop and like it better than non def your sinus system is completely shot. Def exhaust stinks, in more ways than one.

What about the 1000s and 1000s of buses and delivery trucks running up and down the streets in the big city’s. One thing I noticed when I was in New York City after 2012 all the buses were now using def and when you were walking the sidewalks they exhaust pipe wasn’t blowing black smoke in your face when they were pulling out on every street corner. Def systems were cleaner. It’s done more than you think. Don’t kid yourself. Go in your shop and fire up the 4430 and then see how long you last in there with the doors shut before your eyes are burning and can’t hardly see across the shop. Then go start the new tractor up with def and run that and see which one you would rather be in. If you can’t answer that then you haven’t been around newer equipment then. I do it all day long. I know which one I will choose.
