E.Central MN | The internet sure is pushing a lot of hyped-up stories about the great deals people are getting at the used car auctions and farm auctions, too. With all the thousands of used car dealers and car jockey's bidding on auction cars and pickups, it's unlikely you'll get many great deals. Do your homework, there's a lot of crap among all those "great deals". There's an open auction near here where they sell a lot of govt vehicles both cars and pickups. I've never seen so many vehicles that are complete junk in less than 100,000 miles. I don't know where the good ones go, but they sure don't bring them to this auction. Neighbor likes bidding on odd heavy-duty industrial/construction type machines because they might be worth a lot to the right buyer across the country, but it's unlikely those guys will be here bidding on it. Quite often they sell Ford pickups w/mechanic's bed and mounted crane, neighbor thought one might be handy so he bought one. He got a couple miles from the auction site and the motor puked, the auction company towed it back to the sale and sold it on the next sale as a non-runner. Just remember not everything you see on the internet or hear from an auctioneer is true. | |
