This is the way.

Just embarrassed it took me so long to wrap my head around it.

Had just had the mental shift a few hours before I read your post. Now I’m thinking something totally different than what all of these posts I have made today have been about.

- 30K wet bin (wouldn’t hardly ever be full but would allow for dryer upgrades later on)

- small dryer. 1,000 bu/hour dumping hot at 5 points removal

- 2 cooling/drying bins with tons of air, tons of roof vents, way oversized unload capacity, one side draw tall enough for loading big grain carts and another side load down low to dump into a fast conveyor long enough to load big graincarts

That should allow us to harvest at 22.5% moisture, dump at 17% and then cool/dry in the bin down to under 16%.

Then use two big carts (we already have them) to move grain from the bins to the bagger nearby.

Should be able to keep the dryer full with 2 or 3 trucks and should be able to do the entire harvest in less than 30 days.

Will cycle the bins 4 to 6 times depending on the year.

Much easier to get an ROI on that.

Bins for the dryer setup. Bags for storing it once it’s in good condition.
