Sac & Story county IA | I think it won't hurt much. I have had several motors sit for years and they worked fine. They were used before they sat. Inside has to be better than out in weather. I have motors I bought used that have unloaded the bin every year for near 40 years.
One more thing about 3 phase motors, they are dead simple to put new bearings in.
