NW Washington | Bill Gates is working on a small nuclear reactor in Kemmerer, Wyoming. I am not sure about its progress. Kemmerer, Wyoming, is pretty isolated, if I remember correctly. I also believe that this is a sodium-cooled reactor, too.
I think more people are finally realizing that nuclear power plants are preferable to fossil-fuel plants.
