I'm another satisfied customer. Had a Rinnai for the last five years. Gas bill went down $30 a month instantly.

I do flush it with vinegar when I remember to do it. It does take a while to get hot water, and it seems the more open the faucet, the hotter the water. Despite conventional wisdom, I now prefer to wash dishes while someone else is taking a shower (plenty of hot water for everybody).

And I have chided the rest of my family that they keep the kitchen faucet in the "hot" position. Then when they just need to rinse out a glass they turn on the hot water. This kicks on the water heater, but they don't actually need hot water and don't wait for hot water. I'm convinced the extra kicking on/off is shortening the life of the water heater, but they don't seem to care. Cold showers are getting closer with each unnecessary call for hot water. I've quit correcting them. Now they know by the look on my face what I'm thinking.
