Toss the round bar concaves in the scrap iron pile. Install a set of large wire concaves. I actually use A&I concaves, but you can get them anywhere. Large wires turned my jd from a fodder gathering device into a grain harvester. The grain quality come out of the tank is one of the few things I am satisfied with on the jd now. Round bar is fine but they are corn and dry beans for clean sample. If you're cutting about probable 14% or up, you need to run inserts to make them aggressive enough and if you do they work perfectly fine. |
