1. If you get cold tolerant varieties the ground temp needs to be about 60° for planting. After that it will just depend on the year and how many heat units you get. Using plant growth regulators will help with early maturity. It’d probably work some of the time but I’m guessing it’ll be tough that far north.
2. You can spray it with boll opener to help it open but there is a limit to how immature it can be for that to work. Desiccation will help open it but not as quickly. A hard freeze will also help open immature bolls but it takes quite a while. I don’t think there’s anything you could do to have a nice white field to take pictures in as early as you want.
3. You can get RR, Liberty, and Enlist cotton stacked. You will want the Enlist at the very least or you will have 2-4D damage during the growing season. As far as I know PhytoGen is the only one selling it and they pretty much have the Kansas market because of it.
