| Been awhile since I’ve interacted with anyone from the mining industry. And like everything else, it depends. Where in the world, literally, the find is has the most to do with it and the estimated value. Setting up lines of logistics and paying off whoever or whatever government involved. Getting a major play from the ground to production, maybe two or three years for a surface mine longer for going deep. But money can really expedite the process.
I am sure there are plays already on the docket ready to go when the price is right. More importantly, mines already working can go deeper or veins not economical at 20 an ounce are now worth following. That is happening right now. Even some of the waste from long ago operations can be worth a look. It’s not like those guys you see prospecting on the weather channel or getting the placer gold in Alaska.
And something very important to remember: metals are not perishable. The mining companies are not forced to move all of their metals into the market like farmers have to move our crops. There are precious metal reserves out there waiting. | |
