Subject: RE: Medicade

Pittsburg, Kansas

Got a relative by marriage that went into nursing home way too young. 40's I think. Uncontrolled diabetes led to stroke led to not being able to take care of themselves. Their own life decisions with no financial consequences. We get to foot the Medicade bills.

I think the care givers order every single test and procedure they possibly can. Of course the argument is "well they deserve every chance". But wife and I look at some of the things they order to be done, paid by the taxpayer, and just shake our heads. The person will never make any changes needed to improve their situation. I think the hospitals see those type patients as cash registers. Cha-ching!!!!

I know. That is a bad attitude on my part. I wish the best for that person but I also wish they get half a brain. Which is highly unlikely. They enjoy being dependent and the center of attention in the facility too much.
