I ain’t got no idea why guys my age thinkin they gots it harder back then. Land was high but we could farrow hogs raise them n sell em because they was called the mortgage lifter an that been taken away or you could support you family with 50 mill cow an that was taken away or you could raise egg layers but that was taken away and you could raise feeder cattle but that is almost taken away you could plant your bean crop from bin yum beans an that was taken away an them seed corn sellers only want $50 dollar conventional seed corn and that was taken away iffn you bought your first quarter from your daddy in 1965 you bought your first land for $250 an acre an rent is higher now we boomers ain’t got now idea how bad them gen xers gots it cause they been buyin land instead of rentin it since the 60’s an now they been lookin like multimillionaires xers only chance is haven parents or grandparents die an inherit it cause they can’t buy it there an the boomers only had to compete with other farmers to buy dirt not some multimillion trying to hedge a diversified portfolio or lower hums taxes sellin a business an usin the 10-31 exchange them younger have it much harder now most young farm families have bothe parent workin main jobs an farm on the side even iffn they farm a thoughsand acres an wives work just so the family has health insurance ain’t close to the way it was
