Thumb of Michigan | Maybe not the right answer, but can you tie a couple of lights or a switch to the door opener, so it turns on the lights? Similar to what a garage door opener does with a light bulb on the opener.:
Edit: I'd run an extension on the antenna going outside too, especially if you have a metal shed wall.
