Sac & Story county IA | I don't remember price of calves but I was a young guy that could stay up all night a drive a pot. I know order buyers would get truck owners to haul from Montana to Iowa for 85 cents a loaded mile.
Side note, late 90s, calves were not selling well. Maybe 50 cents. An IRS agent ticketed 33 pickups for having red fuel at the sale barn. I was surprised the guy saw the sun come up the next day. Iowans are pretty moral. | |
