Show pigs are the absolute worst to eat. They're bred for show quality not meat quality. I raise a massive amount of pigs and wouldn't take a show pig if it was free. Sorry to be doom and gloom.
Even though it's a 4H project, I don't think he said they are show breeds. They could be...... but they also could be a quality meat breed.
To the OP, I feel like the proper way of posting them on Facebook is fairly simple. You need to search in "Groups" for pig, hog, farm, ag related groups in your area and then JOIN these groups and just look through and you'll see all of the quote, unquote "Ads" for animals for sale and you'll quickly get an idea of how to word your ad. You'll see ads for "Market hogs up for discusion.... Feeder calves up for discussion... etc" There are tons of very obvious ads for animals for sale in these groups, but you just have to be a little creative with the wording and pricing. I feel like the Marketplace is much stricter and monitored compared to the Groups. Hope this helps and good luck.
