What you say is true, but who in their lifetime hasn't lost money once? Hick gave good advice and the KC guy gave a viewpoint from the other side . In your post you say "rebuilding", what's the difference in rebuilding or keeping the same number of heifers we always do? From what you're saying, we need to all sell out now and buy back in, not doing it. I love the question of you mean your keeping heifers? Well yeah... I'm in the cow calf business we raise our own replacements and for the most part I know what I'm getting. It's enjoyable for me to keep replacements and see them transition to cows and remain in the herd. I don't understand the mentality of heifers are too high to keep. The logic of keeping more when they are cheap and therefore cutting your income further never has made sense to me! I'm in the business not jumping in and out like several attempt to do. Business as usual! |
