SW OH | I think a roller mill works best for cattle feed. However grinder mixers with roller mills are rare. You also can't put hay through a roller mill. I use a grinder mixer with a hammer mill. I have experimented with all scenarios. No screen gets me 20% unbroken kernels. My best grind comes from a 1/4" screen with PTO speed about 300 RPMs. No whole kernels, no dust.
