Driftless SW Wisconsin | One thing about corn silage, my cows ate it like candy and got way too fat. I found that I could only put out a limited amount in the feed wagon, requiring me to start a tractor every day. And I still had to have hay bales out. My former dairy neighbors that feed corn silage always have hay bales out in rings too.
Feeding hay only now, I put out a number of bales in rings and at 2.5 or 3% of body weight per day only start a tractor or skid loader a couple times a week.
