Subject: Millet after wheat in a Northern climate?

CNY
I always have some wheat acres that don’t get seeded to alfalfa after the wheat comes off. Looking for something to get some more tons of feed for beef cows and feeders. I have been burned twice trying sorghum sudangrass with high nitrates. Once because it was too dry once because it got frosted.
Been looking at millet, Kings agri seeds has some to pick from.

I’m in Central NY, 20 miles south of I 90. Curious if anyone in a similar climate has experience with millet. Yields?Normal year would have about 2 months to grow before frost. Sometimes can be dry in August. Would be either chopped or made into baleage. Not practical to graze these fields. Will be planted to corn the next spring.

Thanks
