Subject: NH 195 apron chain broke yesterday

I knew the apron chains were getting some wear, but when I swapped them side to side last year they looked like they would make it a few more years...... One broke yesterday.

Went to NH parts website and got sticker shocked: $2160 each. This is a double apron, so $4320 total. Not sure if that includes shipping. Might find a local dealer with 10% off this month, so maybe $3888

Did a web search and didn't find much. I emailed Farmchains.com and they quoted me $1854.55 per apron using 667X or $2992.80 per apron using 667XH. Shipping both to Ohio $275 range. $3983 total for the 667x or $6261 total for the 667xh!

NH also sells a T-Rod chain for $1747 each= $3494 minus 10%= $3145 Not sure if I can use it on the same sprockets as the 667x that I currently have. I think so, because they only show one sprocket option. Just worried that the T-rod may not be as strong, but maybe it lasts longer?

Or I could convert to a single apron. NH wants $3013 for the single. Minus 10% = $2711.

Opinions or suggestions?
