Near Intersection of I-35 & I-90 Southern Mn. | If you were buying the spreader, I would suggest looking for an Ag Leader spreader module and selling off the Greenstar controller and its cables. Since you are just renting it and I assume you need to return it so that it continues to run with the Greenstar unit, that's not so workable.
You could temporarily install an Ag Leader spreader module and its cables on the rig and use them with your Ag Leader. You would leave the Deere components as they are but move the connectors from the bed sensor, hydraulic valve, spinner etc. from the Deere components to the Ag Leader system..
When you are finished using the spreader, remove the Ag Leader parts. Reconnect the Deere components that were just along for the ride so the system is back like it was when you picked it up.
That way you would have the "loose" spreader module and associated cables for use in the future. It would be easy enough to sell them or install on a different spreader. Even if you never used a spreader again, some of the Ag Leader parts could be used in other situations.
Getting an older GreenStar display might be fine if you intend to use it in the future. Seems to me, temporarily using an Ag Leader spreader module would be a cleaner approach.
