An awful lot of this consolidation got ramped up really good in the Bush II years. I remember the JBS buy thinking "Why is the Bush administration allowing this?". Nobody has been fighting consolidation. At this point, with where say, seed company consolidation is, and the way the genetics picture has changed, it's unclear that there's a way to undo it, short of major changes to things like patent laws.
