So I'll just throw some facts out and you can make the choice for your acres, but we use Centuro in our area (same idea, just different inhibitor). The company data for Centuro quotes “an average of +6 bu/acre” across trials in Nebraska/Illinois/Missouri (2016-18) when using Centuro with ammonia. Also, one article shows that ISU trials with Centuro found a 65% reduction in nitrate leaching when fall-applied anhydrous ammonia was treated. Given a baseline yield of 200 bu/acre, a cost of $13/acre, and a corn price of $4.20:
A 6 bushel response would return a $12.20/acre return, 3 bushels is basically a breakeven, and a 1-2 bushel return is a $5-$9 loss per acre.

So realistically, an expected response might fall somewhere between 2 to 6 bu/acre depending on the field. If you assume +4 bu/acre, that gives a value $16.80, which equals a $3.80/acre profit. I think our cost is closer to $11/ acre in our area.
