Our local villages test their water supplies (wells) annually or biannually per IL law. I always scrutinize local reports for anything that might relate to ag induced products showing up in tests. There is hardly ever anything to cause concern.

However, a question on the map. I note that California has a relatively low rate. But, there are large amounts of direct human consumption foods grown there. Unless it's organic (low % of total market) then there's a large amount of pesticides applied to human consumption crops there. So, why do their cancer rates (per map) not seem higher than midwest states? 

Yes, we apply pesticides in corn belt states, but our corn & beans don't often go into direct human mouth consumption, except for sweet corn. Most end up being processed (which in itself has become a hated term) either by animals or by factory processing, which should remove carcigens, if any exist.

Is my observation wrong?
