| Nuflor is my go to....usually cleans it up. If i calve hfrs in a barn i will spray the navel with iodine as soon as i can after birth to help dry it out...
I did have 1 calf 1 time, that had a navel infection that had started a noticeable "pimple" i grabbed the navel above the swelling and popped it....squeezed as much of the rotten pus out as i could. Didnt have anything to give her at the time, and quite honestly with it being my busy calving ti.e when it happened i forgot about her. I got lucky and she did not have adverse affects from it. | |
