North Mississippi Delta / Alabama Gulf Coast | You have everything right on that planter for its age and design. Focus on getting seed sprouted and don’t worry about skips and bounces. Increase seeding rate to get final populations at acceptable levels. Hunters want more vs proper populations, as in- More must be better!
I use 7200 and added enough weight to keep the toolbar down, you have that with liquid, and enough weight to keep each row unit from bouncing.
Row cleaners set properly should only clean the ground and not plow it up. My manual shows a speed curve for optimum seed placement, use it according to ground condition.
Clean fields should start clean to get that magazine cover picture.
Use good quality uniform seed.
Ain’t much else except getting right rain at the right time! Good Luck! |
