Drive in a field with a semi and stop with all the distractions going on and it can get left in gear. without park brakes on If you hit the key to build air without getting in..... it could just drive away without you. My old freightliner starter with drag an empty trailer on hard ground with the trailer brakes locked.
I darn near killed my dad with 1480 combine I had bought used and the DUMB axx that had it before me had the starting safety switch disconnected on the foot inch pedal clutch. I started it as he walked out of the shop in front of it when he came to visit, and the hydro was ahead enough to lurch forward toward the shop well. Darn near knocked him down.
The only thing wrong with the neutral switch was to stuff it back into the hole and tighten up the mounting nut. I still don't knwo why they disconnected it.
