Thumb of Michigan
Well with the wife's knees, our share was a little over $11K, she had both knees done in same calendar year. Doc, hospital/surgery center and PT about $50K each (10 years ago).

I had one done Dec 2022 and one Feb 2024, charges were in the neighborhood of $50K for each knee, Medicare and my Medi-gap insurance (Plan FHD) approved/paid <$10K for each knee replacement/PT. I paid less than $50 out of pocket that wasn't covered for some PT, stuff.

Anesthesiologist took the biggest cut, IIRC, ~$10K charged, was approved/paid less than $1K. Doc/surgeon billed ~$20K, approved for ~$5K.

Edit: good luck with recovery, ice is your friend, PT works.
