I've been getting emails From Resurgent Capital Services claiming I owe money to LVNV Funding LLC because of an unpaid balance due Capital One. I thought of telling them to go pound sand but instead politely told them I do not owe Resurgent, LVNV, or Capital One anything. I requested proof of liability.
I received this email:
Thank you for contacting us. Due to the nature of your inquiry regarding the account ending in ----- (Resurgent ID ----------), we have forwarded your concern to the appropriate department for processing. Future communications regarding your inquiry will be sent via US mail to the mailing address we have on file.
I'm certain I do not owe them anything. I'd totally ignore it but I saw in the local court news a few months ago a friend was being sued by LVNV Funding. I mentioned it and he was rather surprised as he hadn't had any contact with them and hadn't received any notice he was being sued. I really want to avoid this mess.
