| So only double alley I've ever been around is a working system a neighbor built totally himself. He built a double alley a great big tub sweep leading to it. I personally hate it, along with all neighbors that have helped him. The diameter of tub I'm guessing is over 12' but its big. It has catwalks around a portion of tub to double alley. I've never felt his system has saved any labor or sped us up working his system.
But my question is a double alley really worth it? Does it speed you up that much more? Or is it the fact cattle flow themselves without any one checking or keeping cattle flowing? Is it worth looking at a double alley if you have a short area from lead up into squeeze chute? Say 24-30 feet from V or bud box?
We've got to replace a lead up into squeeze chute, just wondering if we look at a double alley. We have limited space to work with.
What's people's thought on replacement?
