Hell,   you can certainly  sort off anything that looks suspect for free,  run them down your alley..  and   snip some hair with a pair of scissors...   you don't need  some idiot  sale barn rep  playing  cowboy on your place.    


when you say you 'count to 2'     what is that for?  or  are you COUNTING 2??  (verifying you got both of em)
  I  band at branding... so  there can be anything from 2 month olds, to 2 day olds..  all get that green cheerio  but  it's   zip-zing  and on to the next one.  No counting,  and  really no issues afterward.
