all this means is that green stuff is going to be a whole lot wetter at harvest.

I would say planting date has more to do with the difference you see here than disease.

everyone around me hit their corn with a high priced shot of fungicide, I did not. it all died about the same time. looks the same today.

It seems NAT is 50/50 fungicide lovers vrs haters... 1st point..? I guess I've never seen a plant prematurely die and dry down properly?? Well yes if you are in a full blown drought and dead shanks with 90* weather yes it will shrivel up and dry... But you can get caught where it just stops drying down if it's not a drought/Hot weather... 2nd point is a healthy green corn plant will pull moisture out of the ear... That's ideal way... Nice green plants and dry shucks and ears seem to just preform and yeild way better here in MO... 3rd point is thisyear was very different on fungicide timing... earlier the better... even to the point of before diesase was even visable... You can definitely a huge differance... Had a late planted test plot in middle of earlier planted field... and it was young but got sprayed same as the rest at pre pollination... And looks even better on disease control... Final point is fungicide ROI more often than most other programs I've seen used...
