| The 3116 is kinda a dog, and sucks to work on the injectors. Cut my teeth on them when they were new.
Not sure what year they went to the 3126B but thats what you want. The C7 up to model year 2006-7 were ok but had injector issues and top piston ring failures on the 330hp models.
But whatever you do no matter how cheap it is, DO NOT buy a 2007+ C7s... That is the worst engine cat ever made, should have recalled every one of them. Doubt you can get parts for one. That engine put 2 local tow truck companies in a serious problem.
Those 2 companies had wore out old 3126B and C7 trucks that had 500k miles on them and i think we out if framed them all. They swapped out half the fleet for the new c7s and they were in the shop more than on the road, by a large margin. | |
