This is my first time growing hairy vetch. Was flown on the corn last year at 22lbs to the acre and is in irrigated corn on corn field. Curious what everybody thinks the N value would be on it. Very consistent from side to side.
Yours looks better than mine. And they are estimating mine a 150lb/ac based on the samples sent off.
I'm still on the fence about the Vetch though as I completely drained my top 4 inch of soil moisture and the first opportunity to plant it came last Saturday after a 1" rain. The soil was still a lot harder to penetrate than I would have thought and couldn't get my depth to where I wanted without lifting my toolbar out of the ground.
Raining again today, and looking at the calendar Im ready to switch that field to soybeans.
