NW Iowa | From what I have read Oliver experimented with rubber tracks on a farm tractor in 1939 but the technology in rubber tracks wasn’t developed enough to make the tracks dependable. The military had rubber tracks on the half tracks in WW2. The tracks had cables inside. I restored one. The drive sprockets are in front. When you take off in low gear there is a wind up reaction from track stretch. | |
