Generally the pump is a separate business from the concrete plant, and sometimes you just get the pump and an operator and sometimes there is a crew that comes with the pump. You will need more crew working with a pump than using the chute. A good crew with a pump will have a man on the hose, one or two rakers, two on the screed, one or two with floats, one trowelling the edge, and however many it takes to finish the surface. Once they get started, everyone has one job to do and they don't stop. Usually a pump job has trucks waiting so as soon as one is empty the next one moves in. You may end up losing a little concrete from cleaning the pump but usually not enough to worry about.
