South Central MN | My mom and all five of my siblings have AFib and are on a blood thinner. My mom will be 92 next week and definitely had struggles with warfarin the past few years, and I really started questioning the risks/benefits for her also, but it was her choice to continue taking it. I do understand the stroke risk, and to me, a significant stroke would be worse than death. So, I cannot offer advice, but will continue to watch your posts. With my family history, it's likely I may need to make that choice someday also. Maybe by then, I'll take up drinking - skip the blood thinner medication, but have a couple of snoot loaders every night:) | |
