My favorite Val movie was his part in “Heat”. The way he handled that fully automatic in the best Hollywood shootout ever filmed, was impressive. If you haven’t seen it, it’s a hell of a good action movie. I would argue though, the best sequels were The Godfather series.
Movie trivia says that his reloading and moving in Heat is shown in military basic training as the proper way to move and reload under fire.
