Job Duties: The following is an overview of responsibilities
• Responsible for routine maintenance and service work of fleet of tractor trailers, farm equipment, and facilities
• Maintain communication with manager and dispatch personnel to schedule equipment for needed maintenance and prioritize job importance
• Operate semi tractors, trailers, farm equipment and other heavy equipment during peak demand periods
• Ordering and procuring parts as needed to maintain fleet of equipment
Summary of Essential Job Functions:
• Change fluids, change and repair tires, and inspect tractor trailers for worn or broken parts and replace as needed
• Remove and re-install major components of tractor trailers.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot lighting and wiring systems on tractor trailers and farm equipment
• Wash and detail equipment as needed
• Keep shop building presentable.
• Perform pre-season and in season maintenance on farm equipment and grain facilities
• Proficiency in metal fabrication
• Operating tractor trailers locally during periods of peak demand
• Operate tractor trailers locally during periods of low demand if facility maintenance and shop work are caught up.
• Knowledge of commercial driving regulations
• Ability to maneuver tractor trailer in work environment safely
• Maintain driver log according to DOT regulations
• Ability to communicate with non-company dispatch personnel
• Ability to operate modern farm equipment equipped with GPS and autosteer
Qualifications:
• Hold a valid Class A CDL with tanker endorsement
• Successfully pass a drug & alcohol screening
• Maintain a driving record as to remain insurable by company insurance policy

Education & Work Experience:
• Applicant must have two years’ experience in heavy equipment repair and maintenance
• Preference will be given to those that have 5 years of production ag/livestock experience

Abilities Required:
• Be able to lift 50#s or more
• Be able to climb ladders and catwalks on grain legs, grain dryers and bin equipment with heights of up to 100 feet
• Ability to enter confined spaces as needs arise
• Be willing to drive underground in a mine environment with tractor/trailer
• Ability to work both inside and outside as dictated by task
• Ability to clean inside of hopper bottom trailer when switching between commodities transported
• Ability to work a flexible schedule or outside of normal work hours as needed to keep up with job duties
• Time management
• Self-starter
• Interact with people in a positive, respectful, courteous and professional manner
