I need to go and get a 18' Meyer with 14.1×16.5 tires and am wondering how much tire air pressure to have so I don't beat the tar out of the box on these roads. Gear is a walking tandem if it matters. Thanks.

we use to drop them to around 30 and we chained the tongue and load binder on the tongue to take the whip out-chain just puts tension on the pivot pin not the steering part-also put 80 wt oil in the dust caps and we usually checked the tires and bearings about every 10 miles and after a couple checks you will be good-you let to much air out they bounce

We have rowed them about 200 miles when we got our 4622 boxes. I would also recommend finding the tightest fitting hitch pin you can find to take the slap out of there. Think we used some pipe nipples to put in the wagon tongue hole to get a tight fit.

Take tools along to tighten the steering so it doesn't sway. Pulled a 22' with walking tandems across Iowa a couple yrs ago. Didn't adjust air, just tightened the tongue, secured hoses down good, and pulled it 55 to 60 all the way. Rattles a lot, but really didn't hurt anything. I always run a small safety chain taped securely in place to the tongue also.
