Yes I apologized below, that was out of line. Low prices never bothered me but not raising a crop does. To hear guys claim a diasater then follow it up with it will only make 160 tells me they don't know what hard times are. Didnt harvest a crop in 02 or 03 because of drought and I'm in what usda considers major corn growing county. That's what I call a diasater

Well JL just remember by the time the rent and fertilizer is paid for the guy raising 200 bushel an acre . he isn't making much of anything either. We need 60 cents in corn and a dollar on beans for most of us. At least that's the case with me and my crew. It's a crappy deal right now. And yes I've sold 1.45 corn too.

Me too. Sorry for the the post in the other thread. Just Learning. Its really uncalled for by me. I apologize. The weather this year has been really strange. They can predict the exact time off an Eclipse but cant make an accurate weather forecast.

Not trying to me mean, but I hope they can make an accurate prediction of an eclipse, because all the variables are almost constant. While the variables for the weather are in constant moition.

I'd be pretty worried if celestial bodies bound by the forces of God and the Universe did not revolve in their synchronous orbits as they have long before man and will long after.

I think we'd have a little more to worry about than the crop tour if that was the case. Lol

Not piling on here...

Just pointing out that in our area of north central South Dakota we have seen bad yield years (0-20 bushel corn) and this year it honestly looked like we were very likely headed to that kind of result as late as July 5th.

Even certified agronomists in the area are amazed at the amount of recovery the corn has achieved since it decided to start raining. We have gotten between 7-14 inches of nice rains since that time and even though I'm only 50 years old I've never seen anything remotely like it.

All that said, with even a normal frost event, much of the miracle recovery will have been for naught.

I guess Yogi said it best. It ain't over till it's over.

When I raised hogs, tail biters were sorted off and penned with other tail biters. And if they couldn't keep from biting other tail biters, we got out the old school hog rings from when we raised pigs on dirt. Not a bad idea if you ask me. And I've seen human hog rings on kids at the mall!

Really, is it any wonder so many good posters leave with the behavior that has become the norm here? Is this just a pen of tail biters?

thicker tails(skin) though. I think some of these guys come from the "everybody gets a trophy" place. Cant believe how easy some get butthurt. All the "good posters" that left, could take it and dish it back out.
