Subject: Ford Escape is refusing to take gas

Eastern Ontario

Wife went to fuel up a few days ago and the tank wouldn't take much gas. Nozzle kicked out every 2 bucks or so. So I figured the guy had the nozzle in too far, so I take it to the gas station tonight myself. Same thing happened. Could only get about 5 bucks worth of gas in it. This was the same station. So I went down the road and tried another pump. Same thing. So I trickled about another 15 bucks worth of gas into the tank. Tank is not full yet.

What the heck could cause this? Nozzle keeps kicking out. Did someone stick something down the filler tube? I think I need to remove the filler hose and see if there's an obstruction or something. Or should I try something else first? Suggestions are welcome.
