Lower Michigan | Can someone tell me why the onions I buy at the grocery store will only keep for a week at best. Were they too wet at harvest, was the growing season too warm ? Drives me nuts to throw half a bag of onions out every week or so. Just tonight I hade 3 or 4 opinions growing in a bag that was just bought from a reputable grocery a few days ago . I store them in a cool dark cupboard in the basement. I'm a corn, soybean and wheat guy from Michigan I don't know anything about onions. | |
