Yes, it was that oval shaped in the ground.
Do not know the trench width that the machine may have been set up for. I am assuming 16.
The protrusions are in the tile and after digging in 4 distinct and separate locations, one of which is 8" tile that is beginning to do the same, they are all at 12 and 6.
The tile has a minimum of 3ft of cover. This section in the picture has 4 or 4.5 ft of cover.
I would agree that it is possible that improper trench bottom and width, bedding, blinding are all possible factors. I just know that I have found tile in the past that has shown signs of failure due to these, just not to the extent that this is. This splitting occurred on both the bottom and top where the protrusions are.
I will not name the brand of tile yet. Saving it for a few days. It is not the brand I install. | |
