Blvd d'Espair Bowhill, Sth Aust | As I write it is 4 PM Monday on Eastern Seaboard US. 6 AM tuesday in Queensland I live far to the south and west, and currently 30 mins ahead of Qld.. Cyclone Debbie has intensified overnight, and is now Category 4, But has also slowed down and is expected to now make landfall in approx 5 hours time. This is partially good news because the storm surge will not co-incide with High Tide, as was initially thought. Originally KelB's area of Ayr, which is right on the coast, was directly in the expected path, but the forecast trajectory has moved further south. Although given the very large size of this storm, he is unlikely to miss out entirely from the back edge. The worst is expected at the leading edge as the winds hit from the Coral Sea.
Here is interesting footage of Debbie from the Space Station taken yesterday. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OxNl3RJ0Cgo
Be aware it is speeded up 5 times.
