Northeast Nebraska | Randolph Public is spending $60000 to renovate part of the Elementary school to open a publicly ran daycare. They are projecting a $125000 a year loss if it is ran publicly, but I was told by a school board member that it "would be a good business opportunity for someone to run this daycare privately."
So is that an admission of guilt for poorly managed school spending? They say it will loose 125K if they run it, but are offering for it to be ran privately and that person could make a profit.
The boards pitch was because Randolph has the 5th lowest tax levy in the state it would be okay to increase that and get the farmers to pay more. They had a breakdown of their income. Farmers are paying for 79% of their spending.
They are proceeding with the renovations and hoping some fool comes in to run it privately. When no one steps in, I'm sure because they have already renovated the space, they will then proceed to open the daycare and begin loosing the $125000/yr
