Christian Co. Illinois | Went to a land sale a couple of years ago where they sold some small tracts that were half tillable , half brushy timber. Watched one 25 acre tract sell for $2700 an acre and was surprised on the buyer because I didn't think they had that kind of money ( girl I knew in school who lived off of farm ). When they went to settle up she told auctioneer instead of 10% down she'd just pay it all off that day. Auctioneer said great that will be $67,500. Poor girl about had a heart attack because she thought she paid $ 2,700 for whole tract. They let runner up buy it at $2650 an acre. | |
