Subject: case ih 1240

last spring i should of replaced my opener blades but didnt so i put a few new ones on mid season behind the tires and tracks beings thats where the most wear is, put appx 500 acres on to finish the year and now that im replacing the rest of the blades the on ones i put on last spring and a lil bit of play in them already, but yet the old blades that are totally junk have no play in them, when i put the new ones on last spring i put one shim on one side and two on the other, with that i can almost take two fingers and touch the blades together. has any one elce ever had somting like this? could shim them closer but then the blades would rub together more and would really rub a grove into the leading blade. was also thinking if i shim them closer and they do rub more the blade would have less flex so there more the blade wouldnt get loose, the play isnt in the bearing itself but its in where the bearing sits. any one elce come across this before?
