N FLA | What do you think of this LRP estimate. I am planning to do something when the 17 week policy includes August 1. I have 100 steers now and would like to sell them before August 1.. I thought that was cool, the covered value keeps going up, but I see the premium keeps going up also. I was thinking I would spend about $10 per head, maybe $11 per head now, roughly a 90% coverage. The expected value is based on 110% of board price, and I think settles on the CME cash index, well 10% over that, best I can figure out. If anybody has any experience I am all ears.
Id would be less confusing if they just showed the board price, and the payout if below the board price, instead of the hocus pocus formulas to make it look like you get more.
